These codes do not expire
Worth understanding before you print anything. Many QR generators produce a code pointing at their short link, which then redirects to your URL. That gives them tracking, and it means your code stops working if their service disappears or starts charging. The codes here encode your URL directly, so there is no middleman and nothing to expire. Print them on anything.
Making a code that actually scans
Three things matter. Size: about 2 cm square is the practical minimum for a phone at normal distance, and more if people will scan from further away. Quiet zone: the white border around the code is functional, not decoration, and cropping it tight is the most common reason a code fails. Contrast: dark code on a light background. Inverted codes fail on many scanners.
Shorter URLs make better codes
More characters means a denser grid of smaller squares, which is harder to scan and less tolerant of poor printing. If your link is very long, a shorter one produces a visibly cleaner code.
Always test before printing
Scan it yourself, with more than one phone if you can, from the distance people will actually use. Testing on screen is not the same as testing on the printed poster — check the final printed piece.
